A logistics management system keeps all the details of a shipment in one place, from the point of departure to the destination. In the Logistics module of One Soft ERP, internal and international cargo transport — by road, sea, rail and air — is recorded, tracked and available in later reports.

When shipment details sit in e-mails, phone calls and separate spreadsheets, finding out where the cargo is, when it will reach customs and which order it belongs to means asking several people. The Logistics module gathers that information on the shipment's own document.

Logistics module is a module in which internal and external cargo transportation is performed and automated. Cargo transportations by road, sea, rail and air are entered in this module.

Requests entered in the Logistics module are performed both on the basis of a request from the customer and on the basis of a pre-agreed contract. Also, all information related to transportation, all information from the point of departure to the point of arrival of the cargo to be transported - all are entered in the Logistics module. This information includes transport number, tracking number, departure date, arrival date to customs, delivery date and other information. All of this is entered in the Logistics module and can be tracked in later reports.

Logistics module can also be integrated with Bid module (Tender module), Purchase and Sales modules. If there is a shipment entered in the form of a request or otherwise agreed in advance, the carrier company (vendor) is selected in the Bid module and automatically falls on the Logistics document. Then other information of the Logistics module is entered and the process is completed. It is also possible to create Purchase and Sales documents based on the Logistics module, and the information from this module is automatically transferred to the Purchase and Sales documents.

Logistics and transport companies have to coordinate several routes, cargo movements and warehouse operations at the same time. The Logistics module brings road, rail, air and sea transport into a single system, giving centralized control over routes, cargo and warehouse stock.

Who it's for

  • Freight and forwarding companies
  • Importers and exporters that organise their own transport
  • Logistics departments working with several transport modes and routes

How it works

  1. 01A transport request is entered from a customer quote request or a contract.
  2. 02The carrier is selected in the Bid module and lands on the Logistics document.
  3. 03Vehicle, tracking number and dates are recorded.
  4. 04The cargo is tracked en route; customs-arrival and delivery dates are recorded.
  5. 05Purchase, Sales and Customs documents are created from the Logistics document as needed.

Key capabilities

  • Road, sea, rail and air shipments recorded in one system
  • Transport requests based on a customer quote request or a pre-agreed contract
  • Vehicle number, tracking number, departure, customs-arrival and delivery dates recorded
  • Carrier selected in the Bid module and passed to the Logistics document automatically
  • Purchase and Sales documents created from the Logistics document
  • Customs document created from the Logistics document
  • Reports on shipments

How it connects to other modules

The Logistics module connects the purchasing and sales chains to physical transport. The carrier is selected in the Bid module, shipment details are collected on the Logistics document, and that data carries over automatically to Purchase and Sales documents. If the cargo passes customs, the Customs document is created directly from the Logistics document and all details move with it.

Benefits

  • Shipment details no longer scattered across e-mails and spreadsheets
  • Where the cargo is and when it will arrive is visible on one document
  • The same data is not retyped into Purchase, Sales and Customs documents
  • Carrier selection runs transparently through the tender process
